12-31-11 LAKE CONCORDIA
We had a great turnout (21 entries) considering the date. Great way to closeout the 2011 tournament year. You could fish this one as a team or singles. 9 fished as a team and the rest singles. 21 entires/30 people. Concordia was a bit tough. Heavy fog made for a slow take-off. Fog gave way to a bright, blue ski with no wind. Water temp was 51 early and 54 at closing time. Around 1p some clouds moved in with a light sprinkle....I had a could'a, should'a, would'a day. Packed a 2.50 for an hour or so then smacked two right at 4 pounds on back-to-back cast. Made some moves, hit another 4 that rolled up and pulled off. Arrrrrgh! There went 2nd place. That was my 4 bites for 3 fish for the day..Started to not weigh but those 3 put me in the money. 3rd for 162 bucks on a 50 buck fee. I'll take that. Hatton and Moore (Delhi/Tallulah) placed first with a good limit on a tough day....16.77 worth $420...Chris Wilson/Johnatan Jewell (Columbia, LA) placed 2nd w/12.21 and had big bass w/4.71. They took $462 back to Columbia. Had a great out-of-town draw. All that were there want more Opens so stay tuned. I'll dodge what clubs I can but w/so many local bass clubs, I can't dodge all. You wanna fish for some bucks this is the way to go if not stacked on your club deals. No dues, very simple rules and a good payout for a 50 buck fee. I may do a couple with a 100 buck fee and, of course, that will double the payout. All will be 100% payouts! Stay Tuned for lakes/dates.
