On May 12th the Top Rods Circuit had 18 anglers compete on Lake St. John during off and on rains and breezes with low lake levels. 14 Limits of 18, 4.88 big bass. No dead fish weighed. 100% release. 80 fish weighed in. Total weight: 184.90 pounds. Average weight: 2.31.

Still gotta ways to go before I'm done but it's gonna defiantly be a nice trophy for the winner. It's gonna have micros on it and the wood elm handle is a nice touch also. It's gonna be awesome. Eddie came to me and wanted me to build something special, and I'm told him I'd be glad to do it. It's gonna be ashame I can't be there to to present it because I've gotta go back offshore. Almost done with the threading and handle and Aaron Strickland is gonna wrap the guilds for me while I'm offshore. Aaron has been been helping me with guild work because he wants to learn and is doing a great job helping me so I can get more done in half the time. He will be presenting the rod in my absence. If it were mine id put it over my fireplace because how many elm wood handle casting rods do you see in Louisiana. Zero! Thanks John for posting the rod!
